that the state\u2019s Supreme Court tore a huge loophole in the middle of the Michigan Consumer Protection Act more than 25 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"TJPKNGV3TRE4NCV7YSLKVMUY6Y\">On Wednesday morning, attorneys for her office made the case for closing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"LN3S5GBOQNHQDLAJC3LR5J7E34\">Decisions handed down by the Michigan Supreme Court in 1999 and 2007, \u201crewrote the [consumer protection] act\u2019s primary exemption to sweep out of its protective coverage purchases for groceries, automobiles, home improvements, prescription medications and a broad range of other
